This last month for Mi Casita, we have witnessed the results of all the hard work that the children have completed since the beginning of the school year.
We are experiencing great moments of normalization in the classroom, where all of the children are sitting, working, and engaging in something productive. We have been shortening the morning circle time to allow those long periods of concentration to occur.
The language work in the classroom is at its peak right now. The children are really interested in reading, as the school year goes by more children are joining the Reading Train Program. Our kindergartners are reading Elementary level books with great confidence. We are very thankful to all the parents who have supported the children every Tuesday with their reading progress and those who have practiced with the books that we send in the children’s folders. If you have not done so yet, you are welcome to sign up and volunteer through the Bloomz app or on the calendar in the cubby room.
Through art, lessons, and science experiments, children have been learning all about precipitation, the Chinese New Year, the continents, and the core subjects of Montessori Education. In January, we learned about Africa. This month, we have started to explore Asia and we are getting ready for Valentine’s Day.
We had a great Mom’s Night! It was great to see our students show you some of the lessons that they have learned in the classroom and some of the Spanish that they have been exposed to. They looked very confident showing you all kinds of lessons! Thank you so much for participating in Mom’s Night. The children were really looking forward to it.
Thank you so much for being part of our community at Middle Creek Montessori. It is a wonderful experience and tremendous fun to work with you and your children.
Sincerely,
Mr. Daniel, Ms. Paula and Ms. Eileen
