Ms. Ellen Stephenson - MUSIC
Ms. Stephenson, originally from North Carolina, has lived in Montana for over 26 years. She has taught K-12 music in Yellowstone, Bozeman and Libby public schools. She presently teaches private piano, voice, and beginning guitar to 40+ students at her private home studio near Four Corners. Ms. Stephenson is a 22-year member of the Bozeman Symphonic Choir and has worked in various church denominations as choir directors. She enjoys living with her Chocolate Lab, "Cooper," and 3 kitties. She loves contra dancing, hiking/walking, healthy food, theater, travel and nature.
Mrs. Kathleen Karlsen - ART
Mrs. Karlsen has eleven years of experience teaching creative arts in school, community and studio settings. Mrs. Karlsen has a Bachelor's degree in studio art, a Master’s degree in art (humanities) and additional training in the Montessori method. She and her husband Andrew have five children ranging in age from two to fifteen. Their two oldest children are "graduates" of Middle Creek Montessori and they are very happy to now have two children in the elementary classrooms. Mrs. Karlsen also paints professionally and as a hobby.
 
Mrs. Lydia Trom - ART
Mrs. Trom has a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Michigan, in drawing and painting, with a minor concentration in Biology.  She received her Master's degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Medical Illustration.  She worked as a medical animator for a software company in Ames, Iowa for 5 years.  She and her husband, Jeff, then moved to Bozeman in 2005.  They have 3 children, all currently attending Middle Creek Montessori.  Mrs. Trom loves to create art whenever the opportunity arise, and is thrilled to share this love with the students. 
 
  
Mrs. Ana Macrae - SPANISH
Senora Ana is a native of Peru and has lived in Montana for the past seven years. She has a degree in hospitality. Senora Ana began teaching Spanish in 2002 at Ophir School in Big Sky. After marrying her husband, Andrew Macrae, she moved to Bozeman in 2004 and taught Spanish at the Children's Development Center. Senora Ana started working at Middle Creek Montessori as the Spanish teacher in the fall of 2005 and also teaches at Monforton School and at the Children's Museum. Senora Ana enjoys cooking, baking and sharing her Peruvian culture with others.
 
 
Mrs. Alberta Chang - Classroom Substitute and After School Coordinator 

Teaching children has been a lifelong love for Alberta, who has been a teacher for 25 years.  She has a Montessori Preschool Certification with PanAmerican Society, a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Master's Degree in Montessori Elementary Education.  Her hobbies include teaching children how to read, reading cultural books, and taking long walks.  Alberta's great dream is to become a Montessori Master Teacher to train Montessori teachers.
